How Wealthy People Laugh

Well, if you can’t make the convention in Florida, here is a funny skit with Jim Carey.

Relax, I’m just teasing.

Did you hear the one about the two Political Parties who walk into an election? Four years later, the debt is higher, grid lock is the norm, new wars, everything is made elsewhere, financial sector is making billions, crime still growing, no jobs, and … people are getting ready to elect them again. LOL!

On a more serious note

The Wife

When I saw the face I seeked,
  remembered from a future dream.

I became what I was before.

Now awake, I hold her hands,
  my soul serene.

Always still, life rushes by.
  I wait.

Infinity unfolds.

Block Island, Rhode Island

Yesterday my wife and I took a day trip to Block Island.  We just visited the beach and relaxed.  Something about the Block.   Or maybe it was our lunch at Ballard’s; that cup of Caribbean Coffee that had some Captain Morgan in it. The day went by too fast!

If you are ever in Rhode Island or even Connecticut, a ferry trip to Block Island will probably be a good thing.  It is very beautiful.  Rent a bike, moped, or just walk.

We took a few pictures and videos.  Below is a low resolution version of one with me sitting on a dock while we wait for the high-speed ferry.  The full picture is nice.  The Samsung Note takes very good pictures.

Why are taxes a political issue?

Easy solution.   Just tweak them and see what happens?  Duh!

More.  Clearly, taxes should be tied to econometric measures.  Even if there are no changes to current ratios, they should be all be responsive to current “needs”.  In addition, there should be limits, if taxes are rising too much, then other measures are automatically taken to reign in spending.

No need for grandstanding political groups and class warfare, all which hide the fact that these same groups are just trying to grab more of that apple pie.

The real issue

In this connected world, the speed and quantity of information in the government is too slow.   There should be more direct and frequent information flows, an Agile Government.  And, this should be based on objective and measurable data, i.e., real information.

What we have now is nothing new.  In the old days they argued wearing white wigs, today the wigs are gone but the same heads remain.
